Open Initiatives Committee

Charge
This committee will work to ensure that NASIG is positioned to effectively support Open Access Publishing, library focused Open Source software communities, Open Educational Resources, and other important open initiatives.

  1. Support fundraising for Open Access publications
  2. Develop relationships with library focused Open Source software communities
  3. Advise the NASIG board on ways to support Open Educational Resources

The immediate efforts of the committee will support the fundraising efforts for the Joint NASIG and UKSG initiative to publish the NASIG Conference Proceedings in Insights, an Open Access journal. During the first year, June 2019-June 2020, the committee with recommend a permanent committee name, a final committee charge, and establish a guiding document for the work of the committee.
