DESCRIPTION
With the recent changes to Title II, there is an increased interest in verifying the accessibility of the platforms and content purchased by the library. Doing accessibility testing, though, can be costly, time-consuming, and intimidating for those without particular skills in website design. This webinar will explore accessibility tools and processes that can be used to inform acquisition including evaluating Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACR), finding third-party reports, automated accessibility checkers, testing with a keyboard and screen reader, licensing language, and using the WCAG-EM Reporting Tool.
SPEAKER BIOS
Zachariah Motts is Electronic Resources Librarian at Iowa State University. He has served on the Library Accessibility Alliance since 2023 and is currently co-chair of the Testing Subcommittee. Beyond the day-to-day management of electronic resources, his areas of interest include accessibility, open access agreements, and publishing integrity.
