NASIG-L

NASIG-L is the electronic discussion list for NASIG members. Topics for discussion include: announcements, news, meetings, reports, and issues of concern to members that may be of interest to the NASIG organization. Job announcements are posted to the NASIG jobs blog, they are not allowed on NASIG-L.

To post to the list, email NASIG-L@nasig.org.

This list is moderated, which means that any message sent to NASIG-L will automatically be forwarded to the NASIG Communication Committee listmanagers for verification before being distributed to the rest of the NASIG-L subscribers.

NASIG members are automatically added to NASIG-L when they join the organization. At the bottom of each message there is a link and instructions on how to unsubscribe.

To report an email address change, send a message to the Communications Committee (communications@nasig.org) with your old address and your new address.

What’s the difference between the two listservs NASIG manages, SERIALST and NASIG-L?

NASIG-L is for discussions among the NASIG membership. Members can opt-out of receiving NASIG-L messages and occasionally, individuals who are attending the NASIG conference, but are not NASIG members are added to NASIG-L listserv so they can participate in discussions leading up to and immediately after the conference.

SERIALST is a longstanding forum established in October 1990, by Birdie MacLennan, with technical support from the Office of Academic Computing at the University of Vermont (UVM), in order to serve as an informal electronic forum for most aspects of print and electronic serials processing in libraries. In 2014, SERIALST moved to NASIG and is now under the management of the NASIG Communications Committee, however SERIALST membership remains open to anyone. NASIG is proud to be the stewards of such an important and longstanding discussion forum for our community. Visit SERIALST page to learn more about the list and how to subscribe.
